Give Where You Live – Coastside Gives is happening on May 2nd
Mark your calendars for May 2nd , the 3rd annual Coastside Gives. Coastside Gives has one goal: raise money to give to worthy nonprofits from Montara to Pescadero. Fortunately, HMBHS Foundation is one of those worthy nonprofits and we need your support! Our “Power Hour” is from 7:00 – 8:00 pm. Donations during this time will help us qualify to receive prize money. Additionally, if you pre-schedule your donations, we can also qualify to receive valuable bonuses. Please give whatever you can to allow us to continue to support HMBHS students with academic and enrichment opportunities. We have a generous $5000 match so every dollar you donate gets doubled! Cougar Color Run
Sunday, May 19 th is our second annual Cougar Color Run. Come on out to support our Foundation by getting splattered!
Last year’s run was a lot of fun and we encourage every family to participate.

Teacher Appreciation Luncheon
Thursday, May 9th is our Teacher Appreciation Luncheon where the Foundation shows up to recognize our wonderful teachers and administration with a beautiful lunch. Please email Andrea Quosig at email@example.com if you are able to provide food, drinks, decorations or can volunteer to help out on the day of the lunch.
Campus Beautification Day
Our last Campus Beautification Day will be held on Saturday, June 1st at 8:00 am. We really need people to come out and help get the campus in shape for the end of the year. Our last event had very limited attendance and we could really use more volunteers. Students receive community service credits, so make it a family event! The more hands to help, the less time it takes to get these important jobs done.
Seeking New Board Members for the 2019-2020 School Year
Many of our current board members are parents of Seniors and will not be at the high school next year. We are looking for new board members to take their place. We want to make sure that we keep everything in place that we have built over the last several years. That includes all of the fundraising we do to make sure we keep our academics and enrichment programs at the level we are accustomed to as well as the hospitality and other things we do around the high school campus. Board members responsibilities include attending meetings (about 10 per year) as well as working one or more committees.
We are specifically looking for someone who will be our Financial Receiver. This position involves the tracking of all money received by the Foundation, thank you letters to donors and updating Quickbooks with donation information. There are also opportunities in many other areas including fundraising coordinator, New Leaf gift card orders, and campus beautification support.
It is very rewarding work and allows you to stay connected to what is happening at the high school and in your child’s education. Please come to our next meeting to learn more about the commitment and get involved! Our next meeting will take place on Monday, May 6th at 6:00 pm in the high school library. If you’d like to come learn more about what is going on at our school, please attend the meeting and get involved.
